Striker sends thanks for operation

The Bulls forward was injured during an FA Cup match against Romulus back in September after twisting his leg on the artificial surface of the hosts and despite rest and rehabilitation, needs surgery to play again after being unable to fully recover from a tear to his Anterior Cruiciate Ligament.

Instead of having to wait an estimated 12 months for surgery on the NHS, the self-employed player will have surgery in Bristol on Friday morning thanks to Bulls supporters who'd raised more than £8,000 by Thursday night towards a £10,000 target using online charity fundraising site JustGiving.

A local lad and former Bulls matchday mascot who was signed by Peter Beadle last summer and scored on his debut before seeing his season wrecked by injury, the former Westfields skipper sent his thanks to fans at Edgar Street and the Hereford United Supporters Trust ahead of his operation as he targeted an October return to action.

Cuss told herefordtimes.com: "I didn't think it would get anywhere near the £10,000 mark but the fans have been unbelievable and it shows it's the best club to be at in Non-League football. It got to £4,000 very quickly but then it kept going and it never got forgotten.

"HUST have been fantastic promoting it and it's worked. I'm a determined individual in that if I want something I will go and get it. It's been proved that I want to play for Hereford and I will play again as long as the gaffer wants me."
