St Neots aim to entertain

FA Trophy Challenge

Matt Clements’ side entertain fellow Step 3 outfit Stourbridge in a second qualifying round tie at the Premier Plus Stadium.

Saints sit 12th in the Southern Premier Division after a terrific run of only one defeat in their last 10 league outings, while Stourbridge can be found in the top half of the Northern Premier Division.

Clements accepts his men are slight underdogs in a clash which carries a £4,000 prize for the winners, but he is confident they can put on a show while going out on the attack.

“We know Stourbridge will be a very good side,” said Clements. “Their division is traditionally a strong one and their away form has been excellent this season.

“We know what we’re going to get from them. They are big, they are strong, they are organised and they are a huge threat from set pieces.

“We’ve also shown we can battle when necessary and I’m sure we can hold our own in those situations, but we need to do all we can to ensure it is a footballing spectacle.

“That is what suits us best on our pitch in front of our fans. We’re not built to sit back and try to contain teams.

“Our strength is going on the attack and that is what we will look to do. We’ve got skill and speed in the team and when it works it looks really good.
