Skipper banking on promotion

Former Taunton Town captain Jamie Price is aiming to make it third time lucky and win promotion this season – but with EVO-STIK League Southern League rivals Tiverton Town.

The defender, along with team-mate Jamie Short, quit the Peacocks at the end of the season before signing for Martyn Rogers’ Tiverton. And Price believes that Rodgers’ close-season signings will at least be enough to qualify for a play-off place, if not win the Division One South and West championship.

During the past two seasons the 29-year-old has twice missed out on promotion despite Taunton reaching the play-offs and he believes Rodgers is building a squad for success at Ladysmead.

Price said: "We've got a good enough side to win the league so it will be nice to at least take the play-offs and hopefully win them this time, as I've lost in them the last two years."

Where next?

Beadle isn't feeling bullish! Hereford manager Peter Beadle is rejecting suggestions his side are big favourites to win the EVO-STIK League Southern's South & West Division.
