Several of the Aylesbury United players who finished the 2017/18 season with the club have re-signed along with exciting young winger, Max Hercules
Hercules is an 18-year-old winger who signed from Tring Athletic, who made a total of 60 appearances for the Hertfordshire-based side.
Hercules – a well-known name in Aylesbury due to Cliff Hercules, who made 669 appearances, scoring 301 goals in the process, both club records, between 1984 and 2002 is joined by Ollie Hogg, Jack Hopwood, Harry Jones, Ben Seaton, Callum Mapley, Matt Peake-Pijnen, Greg Williams, Aaron Berry, Jake Bewley and Jack Wood from last season`s Ducks squad.
Now firmly established in the United engine room, this will be Hogg's third full season with the Ducks after signing from local rivals Aylsbury FC via spells with Tring Athletic and Leighton Town.
Hopwood is also a young player, this time goalkeeper, who also joined from Tring Athletic, midway through last season.
Harry Jones is a midfielder who made his debut at the start of last season aged just 17, featuring 45 times for the Ducks.
Seaton came to the club in October 2017 and ended up winning the ‘Most Improved Player’ award due to his ever improving performances.
Mapley is a young defender who joined the club in January after signing from Beaconsfield Town.
Peake-Pijnen is a 20-year-old who arrived in February from Oxford City last season.
Williams signs on again for what will be his twelfth season with Aylesbury United and is currently on 438 appearances and, even in his early 40s, continues to turn in fine performances to the extent that he won supporters' and managers` player of the year awards last season.
Berry is a forward with an impressive scoring record in Southern League football.
Bewley is a left-back who has barely missed a game since joining Aylesbury 3 and a half years ago, and has impressively scooped three end-of-season awards along the way.
Club captain Wood, who has shown incredible loyalty to Aylesbury, is now entering his 9th season with the Ducks after having passed the 400 appearance mark last season.
