Lappin and Holt join up with King's Lynn Town

Canaries Duo sign on the dotted line..

King's Lynn Town have today pulled of a major transfer coup with the signings of former Norwich City stars Simon Lappin and Grant Holt.

Both players where unveiled at a press conference held at The Walks before many memebers of the media.

Holt become a cult hero amongst the Norwich City faithful scoring 78 goals in 168 games and will be mostly remembered for his hat-trick against local rivals Ipswich Town in 2010.

Lappin given the nickname "The King Of Spain" by the Carrow Road supporters played alongside Holt under Paul Lambert when now Linnets manager Ian Culverhouse was assistant manager.

Both Holt and Lappin will undertake some coaching work at the football club to assistant Culverhouse.

Holt had this to say at the press conference "I've been speaking to Ian (Culverhouse) for a while, It's a fantastic opportunity to come in and work with him."

"Me and Simon have come here to push this club as far as we can."

Lappin who agreed a 1 year deal with the Linnets had this to say about his decisions behind joining the club

"The main reason we've come is to work with Ian. We've worked with him before and we know we're all going to enjoy it."

" I just want to get back to football. The manager has got a good squad together. I'm really looking forward to it."

A delighted Linnets chairman Stephen Cleeve also shared his views on finally bringing the much talked about duo to the football club.

"It's got to be great if you're a King's Lynn Town player to have these two alongside you. It will take them to another level"

"These two add a wealth of experience to our squad and they are leaders on and off the field."

Both players will be in the squad for tomorrow nights EvoStik Southern Premier League Fixture against Hitchin Town.

The football club can't stress enough that supporters allow themselves plenty of time to arrive at the ground tomorrow evening with a big crowd expected.
