The Toolstation Western League champions hammered North Leigh 5-2 on their own patch.

Dean Stamp and Ben Bament were the Manor Farm heroes with a brace apiece – Stamp in the 33rd and 83rd minutes and Bament in the 51st and 74th minutes.

Steve Claridge`s Salisbury FC side didn`t start last season too well, but got off to a flier today by hammering Mangotsfield United 5-0 at Cossham Street.

Claudio Herbert after 23 minutes and a Mark Francis penalty 5 minutes later put the Whites in control.

Kane O`Keefe added a third after 72 minutes and Eddie Perrett a fourth 10 minutes from time.

The Mangos had Darren Edwards dismissed 3 minutes later, with Herbert adding his second and Salisbury`s fifth with 3 minutes remaining.

Pat Cox has been a prolific marksman at this level for a while, and he netted a hat-trick to help his latest side, Winchester City, to an opening day 4-2 win at Shortwood United.

Ollie Bailey had given City the lead before Cox struck in the 50th, 55th and 71st minutes, with Levi Cox and Jordan Morris scoring late on for the hosts.

City`s neighbours AFC Totton also started off well with a 3-1 Testwood Park win over Barnstaple Town, whose Karl Rickard replied to goals from Craig Feeney, Stuart Mott and the beautifully-named Martins Lopes De Pina Nimes Miguel – more simply known as Nimes Pina!

A Billy Tucker penalty 4 minutes after the break earned Bideford the spoils at home to Didcot Town, while Marley Thomas scored both of Slimbridge`s goals in their 2-1 win at Paulton Rovers, for whom James Byrne responded from the spot.

Toby Holmes put Wimborne Town in front at home against Bishops Cleeve and Matt Oldring added a second before Jack Skienar`s penalty reply just before the break.

Jack Lovell confirmed victory for the Magpies on the hour-mark.
The other games were all draws.

Declan Morley-Lyne gave relegated Cinderford Town a 7th minute lead at Causeway against Swindon Supermarine, whose Ryan Morgan equalised just after the break, while Larkhall Athletic were two-up through a Leroy Odiero own goal and George King after 63 minutes at home to fancied Evesham United, who battled back to earn a point through Bradley Gray and Matt Liddiard in the final 12 minutes.

Mike Baker`s 25th minute opener for Yate Town lasted barely a minute before Mark Bell levelled for switched Kidlington.
Brad Norris restored the Bluebells lead right on half-time, but a Lewis Coyle spot-kick earned the Oxfordshire hosts a point.
