Saturday's Evo Stik South, East Round-Up

By Jack Moore

Hartley Wintney joined fellow newcomers Moneyfields at the top of the Evo-Stik League South East table on Saturday after they had contrasting results.

Sydenhams Football League (Wessex) champions Moneyfields could only manage a 0-0 draw at Creasey Park against AFC Dunstable.

However, Cherry Red Records Combined Counties winners Hartley Wintney won 6-1 at Arlesey Town.

And they were given a jolt as Kim Forsythe gave the home side a 22nd minute lead.

Less than a minute later though the visitors were level through a Sam Argent penalty and ahead 3 minutes later, thanks to Jake Baxter, with James Tennant making it 3-1 after 32 minutes.

Liam Eagle on 54 minutes made it 4-1 and then both Argent and Baxter added to their earlier goals to make it 6-1, allowing Hartley Wintney to give 16-year-old youngster Jack Dansie a taste of first-team football.
Beaconsfield Town are third now after they won 2-0 at second-bottom Fleet Town with goals from Scott Cousins in the very first minute and then Jordan Ajanlekoko 10 minutes later.

AFC Rushden & Diamonds missed the opportunity to put pressure on the top three when they were held to a 2-2 draw at Chalfont St Peter, whose Victor Osobu gave them an early 5th minute lead.

Joel Gyasi equalised just shy of the half-hour mark, only for Jack Mullan to restore the home side`s lead 10 minutes after half-time.

Diamonds rescued a point through Chris Dillon 7 minutes from time.

Bottom-markers Hanwell Town followed up last week`s opening win against Chalfont by obtaining a point from a 1-1 draw at Barton Rovers` Sharpenhoe Road.

Danny Watson broke the deadlock to give Rovers a 73rd minute lead that an Adam Harpur own goal cancelled out just 3 minutes later.

Kelvin Bossman gave Marlow a 38th minute lead at Chestnut Avenue against Northwood, whose Tayshan Hayden-Smith equalised just before the hour-mark.

But Marcus Mealing won it for Mark Bartley`s visitors 6 minutes from time.

Dan West helped his father Mark`s Thame United to a 3-1 home win over Bedford Town with a hat-trick.

After Dylan Gittens had given the Eagles a 6th minute lead, West struck in the 38th, 47th and 58th minutes.

Dylan Kearney bagged a brace for Uxbridge, but it was in a losing cause at Thame as tenants Aylesbury United edged it 3-2 with goals from Ty Deacon, Jordan Jenkins and Shayne Almond.
