United went ahead in the ninth minute through Jack Self but St Ives Town were level five minutes later through Ben Baker.

The rest of the first half was an equal affair but though St Ives were the better side early in the second half and looked the more likely to go ahead, Banbury worked hard to get themselves back into the game as the half developed and would go ahead on 72 minutes through a close range Ricky Johnson header from a Tom Winters cross.

The three points were then effectively sealed in the 81st minute when Winters struck the ball into the net from just outside the penalty area down the left.
