MOVING ON

Josh Nelmes has decided to leave Mangotsfield United and join Evo-Stik League South West rivals and leaders Taunton Town, while Simon Gilbert has also decided to move on.

Nelmes joined Mangos in the summer from league rivals Cinderford Town.

He was last season’s skipper and played a big part in the title-winning team of 2015/16 and stuck by the club through a tough transitional period last season.

He was a constant in the team last season other than a period out injured due to a facial injury caused by putting his body on the line in typical style.

Gilbert signed for Mangotsfield in October 2017 from new league rvals Bristol Manor Farm.

He ended last season with Yate Town and has previously played for Larkhall Athletic, Odd Down and Weston-super-Mare.

Mangotsfield manager Ollie Price told the club`s official Pitchero website: “I am again disappointed to lose yet another two players, especially when we are thin on numbers. Josh has always shown a good attitude to matches and training, hence I can see why Thorney made him club captain. I would like to wish him all the best for the rest of the season.”

“Meanwhile, after a chat last Saturday, Simon Gilbert has decided it’s best for him to move on. Again, I would like to thank him for all his efforts on our behalf and wish him all the best for the future”.
