Reds need a win

By David Simpson

Last two draws..

Redditch United travel to Somerset this weekend to take on Frome Town in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier.

The Reds head into this match having lost just once in four league games and a win at Badgers Hill would see them move to within just three points of the hosts, who are currently in 10th.

Frome Town continue to remain in touching distance of the play-offs having thrashed St Neots Town 6-1 last weekend.

First Team Manager, Tim Harris, has seen his side draw two successive home matches, the most recent was against Kings Langley, where a stoppage time equaliser from Mitchell Weiss denied The Reds all three points.

Nevertheless, the club remain in decent form and Harris is confident the team have the quality to get back to winning ways on Saturday.

He said: “Frome Town are a very good side and played very well against St Neots, however we have had a good week in training and we will continue to go into every game with confidence.”

Midfielder Louis Ezewele is likely to miss out due to a hamstring injury, whilst defender Marcel Simpson is also a doubt due to an ankle problem.

Both sides met back in November with Redditch running out comfortable 4-1 winners at The TRICO thanks to goals from Orrin Pendley, Dior Angus, Ashley Sammons and Kevin De Veiga Monteiro.
