Redditch ready and confident

FA Trophy

Redditch United manager Darren Byfield is confident that leading scorer Dior Angus will be part of the squad for tomorrow’s FA Trophy match with Coalville Town.

The striker has scored 15 goals for the Reds this season and Vanarama National League North side Alfreton Town are the latest to show an interest. But Byfield expects the former Solihull Moors and Kidderminster Harriers forward to stay put.

“We have had three sides come in now for Dior and he’s turned them all down,” the Reds boss said. “I know the players are enjoying their time at Redditch and are enjoying the coaching. They enjoy the fact that I want them to better themselves. They enjoy each others company and they enjoy the way we play.”

Byfield added: “Zaq played a few games towards the back end of last season but has had to be patient this season and we let him go out to Dudley Sports so that he could get a few games. He has been training with us and he had his chance on Tuesday.
