Rams confirm half-time departure

Petersfield Town have confirmed reports that manager John Robson quit midway through their 4-2 defeat at the hands of Kidlington in the EVO-STIK League Southern on Saturday.

The Rams confirmed Robson had left Love Lane a few hours after reports starting emerging in the local media that he'd quit during half-time with his rock-bottom side 3-0 down in the EVO-STIK League Southern Division One Central fixture, their official Twitter account stating: “Can officially confirm manager John Robson walked out at half time after quitting from his role #petersfield.”

The Southern Daily Echo first reported news of the former AFC Totton, Bashley, Gosport Borough, Winchester City, Andover Town, Blackfield and Langley, Worthing and Dover manager's exit with the club 15 points adrift at the foot of the table and 20 points behind third-bottom Aylesbury FC and safety.

Robson, pictured right alongside Gary Lines, took over as the successor to Andy Neal in October having previously taken the Rams up into the Ryman League during the 1980s. Just three months ago, he left the club before being reinstated days later.
