Premier League chance for teens

Beaconsfield SYCOB youngsters Ollie McCoy and Ryan Hill are on trial at Stoke City after their EVO-STIK League Southern club's record-breaking run in the Emirates FA Cup came to an end.

Striker McCoy and midfielder Hill were also on trial at Birmingham City earlier this month. The duo are spending the week in the Potteries hoping to impress the Premier League club after playing in Saturday's 5-0 FA Cup exit at the hands of Brackley Town in the fourth and final qualifying round.

SYCOB joint manager Andy Hurley told getbucks.co.uk on Wednesday: “I spoke to them briefly and they said it's going really well. Birmingham said they're interested but want to see them again in three to four months' time, which I can understand, but Stoke wanted to have a look too. We'll wait and see, but it's always like that when boys go on trial.”

The pair are hoping to follow in the footsteps of SYCOB striker Omari Patrick who started last season with the EVO-STIK League Southern Division One Central club and signed for Championship outfit Barnsley in September following a spell with Kidderminster Harriers.
