Poppies Borrow Posh Forward

Kettering Town have signed striker Matthew Stevens on a month`s loan from SkyBet League One side Peterborough United.

After a prolific spell with the Barnet youth team, he was well known to clubs across the country, Stevens made the move to Peterborough
United from Barnet last year, who managed to secure his signature on a long-term contract.

First-team opportunities have proved hard to come by at this early stage of his career, but loan spells with the Poppies former league rivals and now Evo-Stik South East outfit Cambridge City and Sligo Rovers in Ireland have aided his development.

A hard-working front man, Stevens certainly knows where the back of the net is and the 19-year-old will be hoping his loan move will help him establish himself in the first-team plans at the ABAX Stadium.
