Alex Pike has signed Nathan Walker and Corey Cherritt and appointed former Whitchurch United boss Carl Bennett his new No 2.
Alex Pike has strengthened his squad ahead of tomorrow afternoon's New Year's day clash with Weymouth.
He has signed Central Defender Nathan Walker from his former Club Hamworthy United and right back back Corey Cherritt from Whitchurch United. He has also boosted his management team with the appointment of former Whitchurch boss Bennett (pictured).
"Carl was manager at Wessex League Romsey Town for two seasons and or the last three seasons he has occupied the hot seat at Wessex League Whitchurch" Pike explained.
"In his first season he guided them to 6th position in the league, their highest ever finish in the Premier Division. He is Southampton based and has a wealth of knowledge of football in the local area and the Wessex League, something I want to tap into " he concluded.
The experienced Walker begins his second spell at Gosport, having also featured for Dorchester, Weymouth and Poole Town in his career. Cherritt can play right back, but also in midfield, having followed his former manager down the A34.
Both players will be available for tomorrow afternoon's Evo-Stik Southern game as Bennett also starts work alongside Pike in the dug out. "Both Jay Keating and our Chairman worked extremely hard over the festive period to capture these players" Pike finished.
