FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round
It's the 4th Qualifying Round of the Emirates F A Cup and Paulton Rovers welcome Vanarama National League side Sutton United.
Sutton are currently fourth in their league and last season got to the fifth round losing 2-0 last March in front of the TV cameras to home to Arsenal after beating Leeds United 1-0 in the previous round. Their average league gate this season is over 2,000.
Managed by former Eastleigh boss Paul Doswell, they are endowed with a number of former football league players some of whom start out at Premier League clubs such as Arsenal and Chelsea. Coach Ian Baird was a prolific scorer at several clubs including Leeds United and Bristol City.
For Paulton manager John Rendell and his staff the delight of reaching this stage of the cup having already played four matches is colossal. However he will want to emulate his former manager and team mate Andy Jones who took Rovers to the 1st round proper 8 years ago when they faced Norwich City.
He picks from a full strength squad which will be finally assessed at training on Thursday night.
It is hoped that the Surrey side will bring several hundred fans and local people turn up in large numbers. The club house opens at 11-45 a.m. with hot food available within the club from 1-00 p.m. Gates open at 2-00 p.m. It is anticipate both car parks will fill up well by 1-30 p.m. Away coach will as usual park in the back car park.
