The Linnets are back in action on Saturday less than 48 hours after their important victory over Kettering Town with a visit to the 3G pitch of another promotion rival Slough Town.
The teams met at The Walks just a month ago with Tom Ward scoring the only goal as Lynn ran out winners on the night, Slough have been playing catch up of late following good runs in both national cup competitions and look certain to be taking part in the end of season play offs for the second season running.
Following Town’s physical battle on Thursday manager Ian Culverhouse has some injury doubts ahead of Saturday’s trip. Speaking to www.kltown.co.uk he said
“We have a few who we will give as long as possible to and look at on Saturday morning, Tom Siddons has a problem and that’s why he wasn’t in contention for Thursday and then we lost Leon Mettam in the warm up which limited my choices up front instantly.
“Then we lost Michael Clunan after he was clattered early on with a foot injury and he is very doubtful in my opinion. Add to that knocks and injuries to others that need to be monitored very closely I may well have some selection issues ahead of the game.
“We have had very little time to prepare but it is what it is so we will go down there and give it everything like we always do. It will be difficult and it’s another 3G surface so soon after Redditch the other week but we were ok there and I’m sure we can give a good account of ourselves at their place.
“They are on a nice little run and after a little stutter they are back on the pace and picking up the points again. We will need to concentrate and compete with them, that’s all I ever ask of any of my teams’.
