Owen, 23, turned down offers from a clutch of other Evo-Stik League South, West Clubs, and at higher levels, preferring to go to the Ray Mac.
Owen scored 23 goals for Tivvy last season, including one at the Ray Mac in their 2-1 league win a year ago. He appeared as a substitute in the play-off final, as Tiverton won 2-0 at Old Sarum in front of a crowd of 2,247.
Despite scoring eight times this season, Owen has been out of favour with manager Martyn Rogers, who let him go last week. To keep his eye in, Owen played last Saturday for Willand Rovers in the Toolstation Western League, scoring two early goals to set them on the path to a 3-0 win over Longwell Green.
Manager, Steve Claridge comments:
“He really wants to come and play for us, which is important. We’ve been monitoring his situation at Tiverton for a little while, watching and waiting, and I’m delighted we have persuaded him to come.”
“Owen is a proper centre-forward,” added Steve. “We know all about him and what we are going to get. He is honest, will work hard and give us 100 per cent, along with a physical presence.
“We have lacked physicality at times this season and we needed an option so that if we can’t outfootball teams, we can break them down another way.”
