Owen Added to Management Team

By Jack Moore

Evo-Stik League South, West Kidlington FC Manager Julian McCalmon has recruited ex-player Henry Owen to his management team.

Owen was with The Greens at Yarnton Road for the last couple of seasons and was an integral part of the side that won the Hellenic Premier Division, but he's always suffered with knee problems. He moved on to Thatcham Town at the start of this seasons campaign fearing that the riggers of Southern League football once again would be too much for his knees. Henry has found that playing Hellenic Football was still to much for him and has sadly decided to call time on his playing career, will join us as joint assistant manager.

McCalmon had this to say about his appointment;

"Since I've taken on the role at Kidlington as Manager I've always looked at my assistants roll as a joint venture alongside Jermaine McSporran, since the departure of Paul Harwood at the start of this season it's left us a man short in that department. So when I knew Henry was giving up playing due to his persistent knee problems it was a no brainier to bring the big man home! Henry has a knowledge of the game that exceeds his years, and along with Jock, Rhys Denton, Eddie Odhiambo, Steve Kenny and Shannon Crawford we now have a very exciting management staff".

Where next?

Tuesday's Premier Division Round-Up With overnight leaders Kettering Town in Emirates FA Cup replay action on Tuesday night, King`s Lynn Town and Slough Town took full advantage to move above the Poppies in the table after both secured victories.
