New duo set for cup debuts

Charlie Wise and Ravin Shami are set to make their Emirates FA Cup debuts for EVO-STIK League Southern Kidlington at North Greenford United on Saturday after signing for the Greens.

Shami is included in the Greens squad heading to Berkeley Fields to take on the Combined Counties League Premier Division club in the Cup's Preliminary Round after putting pen-to-paper for Greens manager Martin Wilkinson on Thursday.

The 18-year-old spent the last three years on the books of Fulham before becoming a free agent this summer. Right-sided with pace and eye for goal, he has enjoyed spells at Bristol Rovers, Swindon Town and Shrewsbury.

Defender Wise made 39 appearances for Banbury United in the EVO-STIK League Southern last season after previously skippering Brackley Town Saints. He made his league debut on Tuesday night in Kidlington's 2-1 defeat at Marlow in the EVO-STIK League Southern's Division One Central.

A club spokesman said: "Anyone at our early league match at Brackley last season will recall his wonder goal from the half way line to secure his team a 3-3 draw. He is an imposing centre-half who is comfortable with the ball at his feet and made an impressive début against Marlow."
