New changing rooms almost ready

Swindon Supermarine's players and opponents in the EVO-STIK League Southern next season can look forward to some added comfort with the club's new changing room complex on course to open by September.

Excited officials at the Webb's Wood Stadium have released a series of pictures showing work progressing since the builders arrived in June to put in the foundations on the site of their new changing rooms.

The EVO-STIK League Southern Division One South & West club successfully submitted a planning application last season to demolish their 20-year-old changing rooms - two portable classrooms purchased from the local authority for £400 - and build new, modern ones.

When the plans were submitted back in March, club president Steve Moore said: "“They are very much past their use-by date. They have been for some time so it is right to get something new."

Marine's new changing room complex follows the opening of the Wiltshire outfit's popular Swindome last November which allows officials to turn their home into a covered indoor playing facility for club and community use at the flick of a switch.
