WEYMOUTH manager Mark Molesley has praised the impact of James Hayter, whose loan one-month loan spell from Havant & Waterlooville ended on Thursday.

His signing was announced before the Terras’ 3-0 defeat away to Slough Town in which he made his first appearance, coming on at half-time for Toby Down.

Hayter made five appearances for Weymouth with his last game being the 1-0 win at home against Chesham United.

Molesley said: “It was great to have him around the place and I really thank him for his efforts and I wish him well in the future.”

His last appearance was cut short as he was substituted after Mark Cooper was sent off in the 28th minute, as Hayter was taken off four minutes later to allow Calvin Brooks to bolster the defence.

Molesley said: “He made such a good impact in his start against Chesham, set up the goal and unfortunately we had to have a reshuffle with the sending off.”

Hayter missed the chance to feature after the game against Chesham as his loan ended two days before the 2-1 away win against Banbury United and Weymouth’s match against Dunstable Town on December 9 was postponed.

Molesley praised Hayter’s effect on Weymouth as he said: “I think he had an impact on the pitch and also off the pitch, someone of that nature and that experience and that calibre to come into our dressing room is only positive to help our younger strikers along the way.”
