Captain moves on

Former U's captain Ian Miller has left Cambridge City, the club has confirmed.

The defender moved to Westwood Road over the summer to help City try and escape the Evo-Stik Southern, Division One central after their relegation from the Southern Premier last season.

He played 24 times for City, with his last game coming during their 1-1 draw with then-leaders Moneyfields.

He leaves Robbie Nightingale's side in fifth place in the league after joining from Needham Market.

And Nightingale thanked the 33-year-old, who also captained the side, for his contribution to the club.

He said: "I would like to thank Ian for his hard work and professionalism during his time with us and wish his all the best for the future."
