Midfielder's switch was no brainer

The 31-year-old central midfielder hailed the Puritans on Friday following his switch from EVO-STIK Legaue Southern Central Kidlington Town.

Banbury United manager Mike Ford was delighted to sign Odhiambo who kicked off his career as a schoolboy at Oxford United before joining Southampton and later winning the FA Trophy and promotion to the Football League with Stevenage Borough.

Odhiambo, who's also turned out for Newport County and Brackley Town, was released by Oxford City last month before a short spell with Kidlington and Ford said: “We’re delighted to bring Eddie into the club. He's got fantastic pedigree and has played at the highest levels of the non-league game. He will bring great experience into the team and dressing room."

The central midfielder was delighted to sign on at the Banbury Plant Hire Community Stadium. Pictured being flanked by chairman Ronnie Johnson and commercial manager Mark Allitt, he said: “Coming to Banbury is a no brainer decision for me as I want to play for a team who are progressing and I see that here. I've played for Mike before earlier in my career and I know what he's all about. I'm hungry for success and will give everything on the pitch."

Puritans chairman Johnson added: "Eddie's a top class addition to the squad and a really great lad so I'm really pleased that we've got this deal over the line. We're still a relatively young team so Eddie's experience is something which can really help us."
