Future asset to Town

BOSS Matty Holmes believes new recruit Charlie Kendall will be a “good asset” for Wimborne Town in the future.

The striker, who was scouted for Cherries by Holmes at the age of seven, got his first taste of action for the Cuthbury outfit in their 2-0 defeat at Yate.

He replaced James Stokoe for the final 25 minutes at Lodge Road.

Holmes told the Daily Echo: “It was nice to get Charlie some game time and, as a kid, he is quite upbeat.

“He is very raw and will be a good asset for us but we just have to nurture him and play him bit by bit.

“We are looking at him more to develop for next season.”

Kendall could be involved when Magpies host Cirencester Town on Saturday (3pm).

Luke Holmes and Scott Arnold are set to miss out through suspension.
