Loan period ends

WEYMOUTH manager Mark Molesley has thanked Toby Down for his efforts after his loan spell from Exeter City ended on December 31.

Down has since joined Taunton Town on a permanent deal from Exeter.

Molesley said: “I hope he got something out of it. I would certainly like to thank him for his efforts and wish him well for the future. He played many games for us and he played for us in a spell last season as well.”

Down initially joined Weymouth in a one-month spell last season, making his Terras’ debut in a 2-2 draw at home against Banbury United.

He then spent time on loan at Dorchester before he rejoined Weymouth on loan on July 4.

Molesley will not be looking to replace Down as he is happy with the strength of his current team.

Molesley said: “At the moment we have still got Jake McCarthy to come back in the squad.

“We are looking quite strong I think we will just assess that as the season goes on with whether we need to bring in anyone else but at the moment I am more than happy with what I have got with me.”

Down scored one goal during his time with the Terras, which came in the 2-0 win at home against Tiverton Town and he made his last appearance for the Terras as a substitute in the 2-0 home victory against Biggleswade Town.
