Linnets sign defender Rory McAuley

...

King’s Lynn Town have added defender Rory McAuley to their ranks as they gear up for another promotion assault.

The 28-year-old arrives at The Walks with plenty of high-level footballing experience, having racked up more than 140 appearances for Cambridge United over a six year period.

After injury curtailed his stay with the U’s, McAuley went on to play for both Dartford and Chelmsford City in the National League before joining Lowestoft Town in the summer of 2016. The defender went on to make 81 appearances for the Trawlerboys.

Speaking to the club’s official website, King’s Lynn boss Simon Clarke said: “Rory is a great leader and he will also bring experience to the team.

“He has played at a higher level, is a great age and still remains hungry. He has the right DNA as a defender and hates conceding goals.

“We’ve got some great defenders at this football club who won’t concede goals easily and who are willing to put their heads on the line.”
