Lench departs the Rebels

By Jack Moore

Slough Town announce departure of popular player.

Lench scored 15 times in 51 appearances for the Rebels this season, with the highlight being the hat-trick at Gainsborough.

A statement on the Clubs official website was released earlier on today:

"We would like to make you aware that after conversations with ourselves and Matthew Lench we will not be offering him terms for the forthcoming season.

Lenchy has had a good season for the Rebels with the highlight obviously being the hat-trick at Gainsborough, and we thank him for his contribution in helping us get promoted to the National League South.

This may come as a surprise to a lot of supporters, however a lot of thought and reasoning goes into every decision we make.

We wish Lenchy all the very best for the future and know that we will be coming up against him next season."
