After finishing last season on a high by lifting the Southern Region Women's Football League Chairman's Cup, pictured, proud officials say Chesham United Ladies have picked up where they left off.
Unbeaten so far and through to the next round of the SSE Women's FA Cup after a thumping 8-0 away win at Brentford last weekend, the ladies have scored 27 goals so far without conceding.
After an unexpected weekend off following the withdrawal of scheduled opponents Maidenhead from the league, the Generals say manager Ed Keeler and his side are aiming to keep their run going at The Meadow next Sunday (October 9) when they are duo to host London Corinthians in the cup's third qualifying round.
* Chesham United secretary Roy Izzard wants to see more families at The Meadow after the annual Chesham United Youth Day attracted a a crowd of 514 with more than 200 U16s.
Izzard said: "Once again Youth Day was very successful with an excellent attendance. It was also good to see so many parents take advantage of the concession entry price if accompanied by children. We want to see more family groups at Top Field. Let us hope the young fans choose to return to Top Field for future games."
After seeing his side beat Cirencester Town 3-0, manager Andy Leese is also hoping fans will turn out in force again to see the Generals host Staines Town in the Emirates FA Cup's third qualifying round as his side continue their bid to repeat last year's memorable cup run.
Leese told fans on Friday: "Having consolidated our league position this week, it will be our toughest challenge of the season to date. Please try and get down to the game and make some noise as we look to try and progress to the next round."
