Steve Claridge, manager of Evo-Stik League South West club Salisbury FC, has brought striker Zack Kotwica back ahead of the big top-of-the-table match against Taunton Town at the Raymond McEnhill Stadium tomorrow.
With Luke Hopper likely to be out for a fortnight due to the calf injury he sustained in last week’s big win at Evesham United and fellow striker Owen Howe beginning a three-match ban, the manager has brought forward the acquisition of a striker he was hoping to recruit in the summer after Kotwica impressed on a loan spell earlier this season.
The signing from Vanarama National League North side Tamworth, who signed him from Gloucester City before Christmas, is sure to provide a boost against the table-toppers in a game where Whites are hoping for a gate in excess of 1,000.
“Zack came to us on loan from Gloucester in November and did well,” Claridge told the club`s official website of the 22-year-old who netted 5 goals in five games on loan for the Whites in November. “When we heard Tamworth might be willing to let him go, we made a move.
“I was looking at maybe getting him for next season to add to our strike force but the opportunity arising was timely for us with a temporary shortage up front, so I took the chance while it was there. I think he enjoyed his time with us earlier this season and fair play to the lad, he’s taking a sizeable pay cut to come here.
“We do have options here at the club, but I want to give us the best chance of getting over the line and securing an automatic promotion place.
“We’ve lost one or two, but hopefully we’ve strengthened as well and those who come in can take their chance”.
