Kinniburgh is relishing St Neot's Trophy Tie

Steve Kinniburgh believes Corby Town are facing their toughest test since he took caretaker-charge when they head to St Neots Town in the first qualifying round of the FA Trophy

The Steelmen could not be in better shape for the tie after they made it six wins in a row with a 3-2 success at Sheffield FC last weekend, which moved them up to fifth place in the Evo-Stik League South. But Kinniburgh is well aware that a big challenge lies ahead this weekend with St Neots sitting in mid-table in the Evo-Stik South League Premier - a step higher than the Steelmen.

However, the caretaker-boss insists the expectation within the Corby Town dressing-room will be as high as ever as they look to make further progress. “We are really looking forward to the challenge,” Kinniburgh said. “But it’s definitely going to be our toughest test since I took charge as caretaker. “It’s a game against a team from a higher level and it will give us a good idea of where we are and it will truly tell us if we have progressed.

“I went to watch them on Tuesday night and they are looking good. “They are on a decent run themselves so it’s going to be a difficult game for us. “From the outside looking in, I am sure there won’t much as much expectation on us as there normally is for the league matches.

“But within the dressing-room we do have that expectation.
