Should tomorrow's (Saturday) clash at Stratford Town go ahead, it will be the Poppies’ first outing for three weeks with their last match being the 2-0 defeat at Chesham United on February 24.
The latest fixture to fall foul of the weather was Tuesday’s home clash with Tiverton Town, which was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch at Latimer Park. Despite their inactivity for the past three weeks, the Poppies remain in fourth place in the Evo-Stik South League Premier.
And they remain firmly in control of their own destiny as far as securing a play-off place is concerned with an eight-point advantage over Chesham, who sit immediately below the top five. Tomorrow's match at Stratford is followed by four successive home games, the first of which is against Royston Town next Tuesday night.
Law insists the Poppies have done all they can to remain as fresh as possible. And he knows they will need to be ready for when the action starts again with games set to come thick and fast in the remaining weeks of the campaign.
