Foresters planning ground upgrade

After appointing new manager Paul Michael to guide them in the EVO-STIK League Southern's top flight last week, Cinderford Town have announced plans to redevelop their stadium.

The Foresters have applied for planning permission to add two new covered terraces to their Causeway Ground to comply with Football Association standards to play at Step 3 after learning the results of a recent ground grading inspection.

Officials at the EVO-STIK League Southern Premier Division club announced on Thursday that they'd submitted plans to their local authority at the Forest of Dean to put in a standing only terrace behind one of the goals and install a second 50 seater stand opposite their current main stand.

A spokesman for the Gloucestershire club said: "Earlier this month we received information on the changes that needed to be made to the Causeway to remain at Step 3. Whilst many of these changes were relatively small, there is quite a lot of work to be done over the coming months to enable us to realise our ambition of staying in the Southern League's Premier Division."
