Foresters job is still up for grabs

Brian Burke and Rich Wilkins are taking charge of Cinderford Town at EVO-STIK League Southern top flight rivals Merthyr Town in the FA Trophy on Saturday as the Foresters step up their hunt for a new manager.

Appointed last week following the departure of Allan Gough and Chris Burns, U18s coach Burke and head of youth Wilkins are set to hold the fort again this weekend in the competition's first qualifying round after the EVO-STIK League Southern Premier Division club set up a four man committee to choose their next management team.

At least eight candidates have already thrown their hats into the ring for the challenge at the Causeway Ground but club officials say the door is still open for others to come forward as they prepare to start interviewing potential successors.

In a statement on Wednesday, the club said: "A four man selection committee has been put into place and has already reviewed the first eight CVs that have been submitted. Interviews for the vacancy will begin shortly but there is still time for interested candidates to submit a CV."

Potential candidates should send their footballing CVs with a covering letter to Cinderford Town chairman Stuart Tait at: stuart1.tait@openwork.uk.com

Gough left Cinderford Town last Thursday night, two days after joint boss Burns resigned. The pair were appointed in June following the departure of John Brough to North Leigh after he guided the Foresters to the EVO-STIK League Southern's Division One South and West title last season.
