First round proper just got closer ...

Held at Wembley following the weekend's 80 second round qualifying matches, a total of 40 ties were drawn out of the hat at the national stadium.

After collecting £3000 as first qualifying round winners and £4500 at the weekend, clubs who make it through to the cup's fourth and final qualifying round will bank another £7,500 in prize money.

Five EVO-STIK League Southern clubs are among 28 sides from around the country with work to do in replays this week to confirm their berths in the third qualifying round, taking place over the weekend oF Saturday 1 October.

Hitchin Town kick off the action on Monday night when they host Faversham Town with four more ties to follow on Tuesday night - Burgess Hill Town at home to Kempston Rovers, Chesham United versus Sevenoaks Town, Potters Bar Town versus Canvey Island and Hanwell away at Thamesmead Town.
