Fifty year award for third stalwart

EVO-STIK League Southern Ashford Town are looking forward to seeing their football secretary Geoff Knock becoming their third club stalwart to be honoured by the Football Association in recent seasons with a fifty years long service award.

The Tangerines stalwart will follow in the footsteps of 50 year medalists Bob Parker and Alan Constable at the Robert Parker Stadium on Saturday 12 November when he'll collect his medal and certificate before Ben Murray's side host Aylesbury United in the EVO-STIK League Southern's Division One Central.

The FA, who've also honored Tangerines official Pat Munns with a 25 year long service accolade, have asked senior Middlesex County FA members John and Jim Taylor to make the presentation on their behalf to Knock who is also the club's fixtures secretary and edits the matchday programme.

In a club statement congratulating him, Ashford vice-president and director Constable said: "It is just about the highest award that can be attained at our levels of football and the club is delighted for Geoff who saw long service with Bedfont FC for many years before joining Ashford where he has performed the secretary role with great distinction in recent times."
