The Puritans have publicly thanked the volunteers who turned up at the Banbury Plant Hire Community Stadium last Friday to ensure the ground was ready for their 1-0 win over St Ives in the EVO-STIK League Southern's top flight at the weekend.
When last Tuesday's winter storm hit, club officials were forced to put out a warning to the public on their website to avoid their home as gale-force winds tore off roof tiles and panels on their clubhouse, scattering debris across the car park and damaging at least one parked vehicle.
A spokesman for the EVO-STIK League Southern Premier Division's Puritans said: "The club would like to thank all those supporters who answered the club's appeal for help to clean the Banbury Plant Hire Community Stadium up after the effects of Storm Doris. Your efforts made supporters experience much improved on what it would otherwise have been."
According to the Met Office, last week's 'Weather Bomb' rocked the UK with rain, snow and winds of up to 94 mph, uprooting trees, grounding planes and killing one woman in Wolverhampton city centre who was hit by flying debris.
