And it saw fancied Evesham United edge a best-of-five goal win to record their second success of the new season.
It was the Oxfordshire visitors who drew first blood, taking an early 8th minute lead through George Seacole.
Eight minutes later, United were back on level terms when, after an Adam Mann effort had been blocked, Greg Peel pounced to net the rebound.
The home side took the lead in the 35th minute with Peel firing in at the second attempt after a cross from Lewis Binns.
And they extended their advantage on 65 minutes when Jordan Bryan set up Mann to score.
But an error from experienced keeper Kevin Sawyer allowed sub Liam Carroll to make it 3-2 in the 77th minute and set up a tense finale.
