Director of football not wanted

EVO-STIK League Southern Petersfield Town have scrapped their director of football role after Gary Lines left the post this week.

The committee at the EVO-STIK League Southern Division One Central club told fans the arrangement was not working at Love Lane in a statement announcing the departure of Lines, pictured alongside Rams manager John Robson following his appointment in October.

Confirming no other changes to their football management teams of Robson and his number two Matt Collins and Shane Brayson and his assistant Tim Farmer guiding the reserves, Petersfield Town chairman Graeme Moir said: “I can confirm that Gary Lines has left the club in his capacity as director of football and as a committee member. The committee decided that the role of director of football was not working for the football management side of the club, and after Gary’s departure we will not be seeking anyone else for the role. "

Thanking Lines for his services, including stepping in as caretaker following the departure of former manager Andy Neal in October, he added: “The club would like to place on record its thanks to Gary for all of his hard work both on and off the pitch while he has been with us this season.”
