Diddy gear up for Winchester City

Trip down the A34

After a win against second placed Salisbury at The Loop on Tuesday, we make the relatively short trip down the A34 to Seventh Placed Winchester City on Saturday.

Tuesday’s win over Steve Claridge’s side was a big boost to the side as we continue the tough run of fixtures. Andy and the team will know all about The Citizens after being torn apart in a devastating 45 minute spell at The Loop back in September. A resilient second half saw Didcot respond with two goals but the damage had been done in the first half and we look to avenge that defeat this weekend.

Winchester like ourselves have been in good form and are in the cluster of promotion chasing teams. As we’ve seen in recent weeks that one week a victory and send you up the table and into the playoff places and the following week a defeat can send you back down. The unpredictability of the league this season will almost certainly carry on till the last game of the season with the play off race extremely tight.

Didcot will make the trip without captain Adam Learoyd following the red card given last weekend against Swindon Supermarine. It will be the first game our captain has missed all season and leaves just Leigh Bedwell whose played every game and every minute of the campaign so far.

Andy will also be without George Reid and the injured duo of Callum McNish and Seth Humphries. With Callum returning to training last week, he’s expected to return to the matchday squad within the next few weeks.
