Didcot Town contest the BigFreeBet.com Southern League Challenge Cup final tonight (Wed 18th 7:45pm kick off) as we travel to face Hitchin Town at Hitchin's Top Field ground looking to win a major trophy for the first time in 12 years.
The game will be played at the 3rd time of asking due to previous postponements for bad weather but with the sun shining today there is no chance of that happening this time around. Didcot will be glad to get the game on and out of the way, the two postponements meaning Didcot now face 4 league games in the final week of the season as the Railwaymen try and maintain their push for the South West playoffs.
Hitchin Town currently lie in 12th place in the Southern Premier League and will be the 4th side from that division that the Railwaymen have faced in the competition. Didcot having already beaten Banbury and Chesham (via penalties) and Redditch Utd on their way to the final.
As for Didcot team news, only Sam Elkins (knee) and Callum McNish who has the final game of his 3 match ban to serve are absent for manager Andy Ballard. Cameron McNeill missed the game against Totton on Saturday but he returns to the squad in place of Adam Doyle.
