AFC Rushden & Diamonds moved three points clear at the top of the Evo-Stik League South East table following a 3-1 win at Moneyfields and second-placed Beaconsfield Town`s game at Hanwell Town being postponed.
The Diamonds` first ever visit to the Moneyfields Sports Ground saw them make it fifteen league games without defeat, taking an early 6th minute lead through the appropriately-named Ben Diamond.
The lead was doubled on 21 minutes through Joel Gyasi but Moneys keeper Steve Mowthorpe stopped it from being 3-0 just before the half-hour mark when he saved Liam Dolman’s penalty.
The first half finished with two red cards – the home side`s Tyler Giddings was for a challenge on Luke Fairlamb, who followed for allegedly kicking out.
Steve Hutchings brought Moneyfields back into the game with a header a minute into the second half, but Ben Farrell made sure with a third for the visitors from the spot on 72 minutes.
AFC Dunstable are third, five points behind Diamonds, who have two games in hand, after beating a now fifth-placed Hayes & Yeading United side 2-0.
BJ Christie was the visitors` hero with a brace in the 22nd and 80th minutes.
Cambridge City moved above Hayes after edging a 2-1 win at fourth-bottom Fleet Town.
City led through James Hall 5 minutes into the second half and doubled that through Ryan Sharman 11 minutes from time, with Matt Bunyan replying a minute from the end.
Chalfont St Peter complete the top six after they beat rock-bottom Arlesey Town 2-0 at home, thanks to two goals in a minute midway through the second half from Victor Osobu and Jake Cass.
Hartley Wintney are three points behind the Saints but with three games in hand.
They won 3-1 at Sharpenhoe Road against second-bottom Barton Rovers – all the goals coming in the final 25 minutes from Jake Baxter and a Paul Hodges brace for the visitors and Andrew Phillips for Rovers.
An Ollie Swain effort 19 minutes from time won the game for Bedford Town at the New Eyrie against Ashford Town (Middx), while a Kevin Warner goal in the 26th minute did likewise for Uxbridge at Honeycroft against Aylesbury United.
The Ducks` neighbours Aylesbury lost 2-0 at Thame United, for whom Dan West after 42 minutes and Lynton Goss after 83 minutes were on target.
Jake Newman put Kempston Rovers in front after just 8 minutes at Hillgrounds against Northwood, whose Evans Kouassi equalised just before the break
