AFC Rushden & Diamonds returned to winning ways as they saw off Aylesbury United 4-1 at Hayden Road to stay on course for promotion in the Evo-Stik South League East.
Having endured a run of six games without a victory, Diamonds got back on track with Ryan Robbins’ fine half-volley and Spencer Weir-Daley’s effort giving them a 2-0 half-time lead. A Liam Dolman own-goal got Aylesbury back in it but Joe Curtis scored from close-range to make it 3-1 and substitute Tom Lorraine rounded things off late on.
Diamonds remain two points clear of third-placed Hayes & Yeading United and play one of their two games in hand on them against AFC Dunstable at Hayden Road on Tuesday night.
