Culverhouse demands more

By David Simpson

No pressure on our visitors

Speaking ahead of Saturday’s tie manager Ian Culverhouse is demanding more from his side in front of the home fans.

"It was rather scrappy wasn’t it?’ admitted Culverhouse. "We began well, got the early goals , but then conceded an awful goal and we really never got going again after that. Our game management needs to be better in those situations. We panicked a bit and that gave them (Stortford) some confidence to go and play. It wasn’t the best but it was three points on a Tuesday night and we move on’.

Turning his thoughts to the Trophy game Culverhouse feels a cup run can help continue his sides recent run of good results. "Confidence breeds confidence and there is no better feeling than winning football matches. I have seen that the club have in recent seasons enjoyed some good cup runs in various competitions and I am aware how important these matches our to our supporters.

"Mildenhall will arrive with no pressure on them and probably with a good support as it’s not that far away. That will create a special atmosphere inside the ground and hopefully my players will respond to that. The league is mine and the clubs priority this season however progressing through some rounds and generating further interest in the club in the FA Trophy is no bad thing’.
