Steve Claridge, manager of Evo-Stik League South West promotion-chasers Salisbury FC, has moved to bolster his squad with the signing of wide left player Cory Simpson from league rivals Larkhall Athletic.
And Bristol-based Simpson, who has scored 10 goals in 25 appearances for the Larks this season, including one in their 2-1 win at the Ray Mac in November.
Claridge told his club`s official website: “He’s been excellent in both league games against us.”
Claridge also noted how 25-year-old former Cadbury Heath man gave George Colson a torrid time in the Whites 2-1 win at Larkhall just over two weeks ago.
“He’s coming to Salisbury for the right money, well within our pay structure, and for the right reasons,” added the manager. “He wants to come and have a go with a team that are looking to get promoted and he likes the way we play.
“We have cover pretty much everywhere in the squad except wide left and it is important to get competition for places throughout the team.
“Cory is quick, strong and left-footed, which will add to our skill set as a team. He’ll stretch teams and he’s got the pace to go by people. He’ll certainly make the Ray Mac pitch big for visiting teams”.
