Canaries roll up their sleeves.

Want to get back the tempo

It felt during the first fifteen minutes that we were still celebrating Christmas and we failed to turn up. Royston deservedly took a two goal lead during this period and we could have been even further behind. We gave ourselves a lifeline by scoring towards the end of the half. At half time the players were told in no uncertain terms that we needed to raise our game and to give credit to the players they did respond with a much better second half performance.

We created a number of chances and could have forced a draw. However the first fifteen minutes proved very costly and left us a mountain to climb against a vastly experienced Royston team with a number of players who have played at a higher level.

Matt Burke gets his squad ready for Saturday's match at home to Kings Langley ..

It will be good to welcome Steve Conroy back to Top Field on Saturday as he is in temporary charge of Kings Langley.

'We have to dust ourselves down and return to the level of performance we gave at Bishop’s Stortford. After any defeat my aim is always to go on another unbeaten run as we did after the defeat at Hereford.

We will not be looking at Kings Langley’s league position but will concentrate on our own game and I want to see us return to the high tempo that was so important in our seven game unbeaten run that preceded the Royston game '
