Management Update

Statement from Marine Chairman

I wanted to let our Swindon Supermarine FC supporters and sponsors know the good news that our search for a new first team manager is progressing very well.

I have recently met and have really positive encouraging talks with two impressive managers. Both are excited by the opportunities and plans we have here for our Club. I do appreciate this is slightly unusual, but right now that is all I am able to tell you in respect of these meetings.

As with many strong candidates who met our criteria, they are successful individuals who are currently committed to other Clubs. Their personal circumstances dictate I do need to wait until closer to the end of this season, before announcing any further developments.

I would ask you to bear with me and kindly understand that I have given my word and personal undertaking that I will not provide any further information right now. Please excuse me should I politely ignore any questions you might want answering!

As soon as we are able, I will gladly let everyone know all the background and we can get on and celebrate together what I know will be an exciting appointment. I do however have some further good news that I am at liberty to announce now!

I am delighted to let you know Lee Spalding has agreed to my request for him to continue to lead and manage the first team for the remainder of this season. I am delighted Lee has given the Club and me his considerable support. Lee is totally on board with our plans going forward. I am really impressed by Lee’s commitment and we will be supporting his drive to ensure we remain in this season’s promotion hunt.
