Blues recovered from the shock of conceding an early goal against struggling Dunstable Town to record their first double of the season.
Tuesday’s 4-1 win saw Blues take their goal tally to nine against the struggling Bedfordshire side and saw them move up to 18th in the table.
Charlie Black gave the visitors a shock lead in 14th minute when he fired home after some indecision in the home defence but Blues were back on level terms just after the half hour mark when Freddie Moncur volleyed home from ten yards.
Loanee Dean Ager replaced Alex Rogers at half time and Colchester United youngster put Blues ahead just three minutes into the second half with an absolute peach of a goal as he curled the ball home from 25 yards.
Moncur went close again before top scorer Jason Williams made it 3-1 in the 58th minute before Joe Robinson wrapped it up with a header six minutes before the final whistle.
