Bishops Cleeve want two wins

By David Simpson

Tough task

Bishop’s Cleeve manager Steve Cleal admitted his side failed to match Swindon Supermarine’s desire as they were beaten 5-0 at Kayte Lane on Saturday, writes George Didcote.

Three goals before half-time from Ryan Campbell (2) and Bradley Hooper helped Lee Spalding’s Supermarine side keep their Southern League Division One West play-off chances alive.

Two more goals in the second half from Callum Parsons and Bradley Gray nulled any chance of a Cleeve comeback as they now sit five points from safety with two games to go.

Cleal knows that the task ahead is tough, but is ready as his side prepare to visit Shortwood United on Tuesday night, before making the trip to Yate Town in their last game of the season on Saturday.

He said: “We’ve got two difficult games, but they’re games which are there to be won so we’ve got to do that.

We’ve still got a chance, we’re five points behind with two games left to play,

“All I’ve asked the lads to do is go and get six points, if we do that it puts the pressure on Barnstaple.

“They could go and win at North Leigh on Tuesday, but as long as we get three points at Shortwood I’m happy.”
