Concern at Blip ?

Andy Peaks admitted he is concerned about AFC Rushden & Diamonds’ current form after their blip in the race for promotion continued at Hayden Road last night (Tuesday).

Having suffered back-to-back defeats to fellow high-fliers Hayes & Yeading United and Hartley Wintney, Diamonds were held to a 1-1 draw by Uxbridge with Spencer Weir-Daley’s first goal for the club being cancelled out by Cole Brown’s effort 11 minutes from full-time.

Diamonds’ lead at the top of the Evo-Stik South League East is now just three points with a trio of teams snapping away at their heels.

A crucial Easter weekend now awaits with Peaks’ team travelling to fellow contenders Beaconsfield Town on Saturday before they host local rivals Bedford Town on Monday afternoon.
